i saw jia's recent post about Daniel Pearl. emotions was stirring inside my heart. i first heard of this book through the Oprah Winfrey show where she was interviewing Marianne Pearl of her new book, A mighty heart. During the show, Mariane Pearl shared the emotionally riveting account of one of the most terrifying stories of her husband disappearance. It is unforgettable for its individuality and horror. but memorable for what it tells us about a man and a woman's determination to understand the world. and a deeply moving demonstration of love. the book was a fitting tribute to a dedicated reporter who lost his life trying to uncover the truth. in that show everyone cried. it was not a cry of symphathy but more of admiration seeing Mariane rise up from the depth of her sorrow. i admire her for her determination to raise their son single-handedly without the financial help of the Pearl family. the last i've seen of her news was in Vogue, being named one of the most inspiring women. she has since then moved to new york in search for a new life and better career opportunity. looking at the recent article in BBC, i'm glad that the muderers are brought to justice. this may not be the most intelligent comment but serve them right!!
